Mind Your Opinion

READING TIME: 1 MINUTE

“It's a terrible mistake to think you have to have an opinion on everything.”

— Warren Buffett

I wonder if we ask ourselves whether or not we need to have an opinion on every subject being discussed in our presence. It took me a long time to realize that I don't have to have an opinion on everything and it is satisfying to admit that I don't know what I don't know.

Opinions about everything has a direct disconnection with humility and a direct connection with arrogance.

Not knowing what we don't know leads to ignorance. We consistently send the wrong message to our brain that we possess a great wealth of knowledge about a subject, which prevents us from seeking new knowledge.

"Humility means that you know the edge of your own competency and you aren’t arrogantly stepping over the boundary."

— Charlie Munger

The video below beautifully sums up this post.
